“No” comes in many flavors. There’s the polite, “No thank you,” the firm “Absolutely not,” and the classic, “Not in a million years.”
The French say, “When hens have teeth.”
South Africans say, “When horses grow horns.”
The Japanese say, “You can’t catch the wind in a net.”
And Granite Staters often say, “When hell freezes over” — which is never.
“No” means no. “Never” means never.
So while many are currently calling for an income tax for the 603 and refusing to give you the choice ban an income tax forever, you know exactly what I mean when I say that as State Representative, “I will NEVER support an income tax in New Hampshire.”
That’s a promise.
